3 Indian nationals detained in Zamboanga - report

At least three Indian nationals have been detained in Zamboanga City for allegedly overstaying in the Philippines, The Mindanao Examiner newspaper reported, Monday night. The report said the three, who sell home appliance and engage in a money-lending business, face charges for violating immigration laws after failing to show their travel documents. One of the foreigners, Karjinder Singh, said he is still applying for an extension of his stay in the country. “I am still fixing my papers and would like to stay here," Singh said. According to the report, the Indians had been selling appliances and lending money for about four years in Zamboanga. It was not immediately clear if they had married Filipino women.
